Snow White, Rethought

For our final project we will be retelling the time-old tale of Snow White with a fresh take on the story. In our recant, we will be switching the rolls of both Snow White and the Prince, meaning that Snow White will be the hero of our story. The Dwarf will no longer be good, but the biological son of the Evil Queen, who is actually a witch planning complete takeover of the kingdom. She married into the royal family, but her husband (the king) died of mysterious causes, and the Witch was able to take the throne. Because the King had a son and heir, there was no way for the Witch's son (the Dwarf) to properly take over after her with the Prince in the way. To avoid this issue, the Witch banished the Prince away while he was very young and made it so that he would never claim the throne. He grew up away from the castle and very poor, never knowing of his true identity or birthrights. Years later, the Queen/Witch is in total power and has made a deal with a neighboring kingdom to marry her son to their Princess, Snow White. Snow White had no trust in the Witch, however, and even though she told Snow White that the Prince had died years ago, she didn't believe her. Snow White tells the Evil Queen that she will be traveling back to her own kingdom to get ready for the wedding, but in reality she goes off to find the Prince and bring him back so he can claim the throne. Together, the two will overthrow the Queen and her evil plans, killing her and throwing her son in jail. The two will end up getting married and happy.

In this project, I will be writing some of the script, playing the role of the Witch, and aiding in both filming and the final editing of the video.
